Fans of Tan France can now add a splash of their own style by outfitting their homes with pieces chosen by the Netflix star.
of queer eye The personality, 40, has teamed up with online marketplace 1stDibs to launch a collection of items from jewelery and furniture to art and home decor, which will be auctioned starting today and running for the next 10 days. France exclusively tells PEOPLE that she has handpicked her favorite antique pieces to curate a collection that fans will love.
“I’ve been a fan of 1stDibs for a long time,” France says. “I can’t imagine why anyone wouldn’t be a fan. Their products are amazing. And I’m very interested in a lot of the things they represent, especially interior design, antiques. I love jewelry. Clothes. , I love vintage. So for me, it’s been a one-stop shop for a while.”
When choosing items to auction, he says he approached the process like shopping for different people with different tastes and budgets, rather than trying to follow a theme. A big plus? High-end auction pieces start at less than $100.
“At first, I thought, ‘Oh yeah, I’m going to collect a large collection of items that can be used in different spaces and costumes that can be used together,'” France explains. “But I never shop like that. I just find something I like and use everything I have at home to see if I can use it in my closet.”
He adds: I like thinking about how I can incorporate that into my world. So it’s all very unique and individual and I’m targeting so many different kinds of people and saying, “This kind of person might not like this, but maybe they’ll like this.” I wanted to think about it. ”
France, who is currently building her dream home in Salt Lake City with her husband Rob, describes their style as “bougie grandma” and loves “floral prints” and items that don’t look “super new.” He says that he also uses 1stDibs for decoration. new space.
of next fashion The host also tells PEOPLE that she loves the “maximalist” look, but still, she doesn’t have just one design preference.
“For example, if I lived in Los Angeles or Malibu or somewhere like that or even New York, I think my style would be very different, especially my interior style,” he says. “I want something modern because I think that’s what it deserves. But I’m from England and currently live in Salt Lake City, Utah.”
“Creating a super modern space doesn’t feel right in Utah, so I wanted to tap into another part of my brain, which is the grandmotherly part,” he adds with a laugh.
Although his home is still under construction, he says it’s “nearly finished,” and so far he’s purchased 1stDibs sconces, bar stools, and tables to help bring his vision to life.
The designer and her husband, an artist, just welcomed their second son Isaac last month, and the family of four is moving into a new house.
He recently posted a happy announcement on Instagram.
“We welcomed our baby boy #2, Isaac France, into the world last weekend. “He completed our little family perfectly and gave us the best gift we could ever give. A huge thank you to the amazing warrior surrogates who gave me,” he wrote.
The exclusive auction on 1stDibs in France begins June 21st and will run for 10 days or until supplies last.
