KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 14 — Malaysians never disappoint when it comes to creativity and humor.
During Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yacob’s (Security Cluster) Facebook Live session briefing on Covid-19 yesterday, social media users instead focused on the decorations in the background.
The minister is currently in home quarantine after attending a meeting at the Prime Minister’s Office on October 3 where his colleague Datuk Zulkifli Mohamad tested positive for the coronavirus. There was enough material for a joke.
Facebook user Saiful Rodzali shared screenshots of humorous comments left by social media users during the live session.
Many people began “bidding” on items such as helmets, keris, balls and other ornaments, with some displaying estimated price tags for the items.
In addition to ornaments, some offered to buy the shirt Ismail was wearing due to its “unique design.”
In response to the comments, Ismail thanked internet users for their comments and called on everyone to stay safe in a post on his Facebook page.
“Persons within the Conditional Movement Control Order area are requested to comply with the announced SOPs.
“Remember to wash your hands, wear a mask, and practice social distancing,” he wrote in the post.
