“Upscale outdoor kitchens are a rapidly growing category,” according to a new study released just this month by the National Kitchen & Bath Association. Reasons driving this surge include people having more fun at home due to the coronavirus, a desire to connect with nature for better health, new products that excites homeowners, and connections with neighbors. Staying connected is essential. “The construction of new luxury homes is on the rise,” the study says.
One participant declared that her firm would never again design a home without an outdoor kitchen. Others say these spaces feature the same level of finishes, materials, style, entertainment options, and most importantly, comfort, while using elements that cannot be easily added indoors, such as pizza ovens and smokers. He pointed out that the purpose of the event was to create lasting memories.
Expectations for quality
Kimberly Kahl of Custom Home Design in Greenville, South Carolina, agrees. “Outdoor living spaces are always in high demand in my Southeast region,” she said in an email, adding, “Most homeowners today expect to have sophisticated outdoor living spaces.” he added.
Clients are demanding a level of quality in outdoor spaces that was traditionally found indoors, she said. She says, “As indoor kitchens have evolved into better designed, more luxurious spaces, outdoor kitchens have evolved as well.” She calls the new outdoor kitchen standard “resort-inspired.” Expressing.
In addition to indoor-level style and interesting standards, there is an expectation and need for enhanced technology. Ian Bryant, operations manager for Jackson, Wyoming-based Premiere SAV technology integration company, said in an email that outdoor kitchen clients now have access to superior lighting, automated shading, smart outdoor equipment, and, of course, all of that.
