Katie Stahl from the blog View from the Fridge upcycled an old tin can into a cute patriotic flower holder using colored white rope and a glue gun. Stripes are always appropriate, but the ombre look in a blue vase is especially chic. Not interested in flowers? “It would also be fun to use this can as a patriotic utensil holder at your Fourth of July barbecue,” Stahl says.
Some projects may require some crazy DIY skills. This is not it. The Cards We Drew blogger Abby DeHart created this fun garland using flag bandanas and twine. that’s it. DeHart says they’re better than disposable paper ornaments because they can be easily saved and reused each Fourth of July. Easy and environmentally friendly? That’s something to celebrate.

The candy box with the image of a cute national flag is getting a lot of attention. Design Eat Repeat blogger Melissa Fallon decorated a small crystal box with stars (click here to print) and stripes (plain sticker paper) and filled it with red licorice.

Tried & True blogger Vanessa Brady created this heavenly candle wrap. A birch bark garland added a rustic touch to the wrap, and paper punched stars added a holiday touch. Red and blue ribbons and her USA letters evoke patriotism. She has one caveat. Paper and fire don’t exactly mix, so these are designed for battery-powered tealights.
Not to be outdone, Brady also came up with these charming firecracker party favors.
